John Morton Ltd is a private horticultural company that specialises in the introduction, development and commercialisation of new fruit varieties.  The company provides a range of services that includes variety administration and management, Intellectual Property protection, variety assessment and commercial recommendation, nursery tree production and owner liaison.

Since forming in 1996 John Morton Ltd manages the day to day operations of the New Zealand Fruit Company Ltd, Shennong Variety Management Ltd and Zeesweet Ltd which are three Intellectual Property Companies located in New Zealand and China.
